Red October

Severe bushfires cast striking colours on Sydney, a surreal afternoon. I walk from Sydney Park in St Peters to Darling Harbour with jaw agape. No editing of photos apart from auto-brightness adjustment.

Most graffiti is designed to annoy but this piece inspires. "I love this city" spray painted on up high on George Street, Haymarket. Nice one!

Auntie

My favourite people in the world are 'aunties' - Chinese old ladies. They're tough as nails and they don't take shit from nobody. Here's a tops auntie on the warpath, complete with quilted flak jacket and trolley of mass destruction. Bless her. George Street, Chinatown.

Elder Paik - My New Hero!

Elder Paik has quickly become my new favourite 'local colourful character". I've seen him around Chinatown quite a bit of late. He's a Korean War vet armed a hoola hoop, flowers, makeup and a HUGE smile.

It's amazing how many passers-by barely bat an eyelid.
